What is AnyPS5 doing differently from an emulator?
The official project description calls it an executable-porting tool: a relinker changes the executable format, while host implementations supply system-library functions. Upstream explicitly describes this as running without emulation or a separate runtime process.
That distinction explains the workflow: you prepare files, convert them for a target system, then launch the resulting program. A conversion finishing successfully is not evidence that the game’s graphics, audio, input or later scenes will work.
What does the relinker provide?
- A host-format executable for the selected target.
- Conversion of supported bundled modules.
- A way to link against AnyPS5’s host system libraries.
See the versioned usage documentation for file layout and options. Our setup guide covers the Windows and Linux workflow used by this site’s tools.
What can I play with it?
The useful question is which build reached which stage on which machine. Our AnyPS5 games overview groups selected titles by observed progress; the compatibility list compares the underlying reports.
Is this the official AnyPS5 website?
No. AnyPS5 Games is an independent report library. We link to the official repository and original reports so readers can check the evidence and follow newer developments.
Does the browser converter play the game?
The upstream browser tool converts files locally. You run the resulting output on your computer with the required resources and libraries.
